This 30 second system freeze/lag is driving me nuts, not that its a long
    drive.

Just read about dumat, but it deps aren't installed. Has anyone written
a script that installs all this so an analysis can be done on an amd64
bookworm system that is otherwise uptodate a/o an hour ago? UsrMerge has apparently been done.

    Thanks.

    Cheers, Gene Heskett, CET.

    Hi Gene,

Maybe just build another simple machine and migrate data to it?
There should be lots of them available in the time coming up to October
when Windows 10 expires. Second hand machines that have been reconditioned
    are fairly easy to find.

I'm having difficulty finding anything useful that relates to dumat and analysis - can you give me some good search term to find this software?

the link is in the debian-UsrMerge page linked to earlier today on this
list. Lots of dependencies too. along with usage instructs.

    Thanks Andy.

If you look at Helmut's git repository, it'll tell you what you need BUT
I think this is yet another X-Y problem. I honestly can't tell what
usrmerge would have to do with anything at all which might cause
your delays. Nothing at all, as far as I can see, but that is only
an opinion that I can't substantiate.

Gene - just build another workable system as simply as you practicably can
and admin it for a wile then sort out moving data. *Everything* is on
one system with you and there's so many things you've done that no-one
can unravel what is just a Gene problem and what's a bug.
Simplify, simplify, simplify - and when you hit problems, tell us all
*exactly* what you did last. The history command is your friend here.

    All best,
