Thanks Cindy! But I've tried about every ALT key combination I can think of -- no luck.

Thus I'm hoping some kind soul here will notice this thread and whack me (gently) with a clue-bat.

I have a Windows key on this keyboard (pressing it seems to do nothing).

Pressing the Win key with Alt and moving the mouse and various combinations does nothing to "switch off" this mode and to restore a normal-sized desktop.

    Suggestions please?

Can I create a Windoze key by remapping something, say "Pause?"

Yes, you can with remapping.  It's not something I've  ever had to do,
but there's plenty of info available online.  I won't provide hints or

There used to be a page in KDE settings to set or change keyboard

In System Settings (6.3.4) it's under Input and Output section,

The problem was a setting the System Settings -> Workspace Behavior -> Desktop Effects -> and then under Accessibility, the Zoom option. Unselect the Zoom option and it cured my problem.

    Thanks Greg!
