I got a permanent black screen this morning. And after I rebooted
via ssh (as I couldn't have any other access to the machine), the
logs show issues with nouveau (see attached file).

Thanks for your report, might you be able to bisect please the changes
beween 6.12.30 and 6.12.32 then to determine the breaking commit?

I only see one change beween v6.12.30..v6.12.34 touching drivers/gpu/drm/nouveau, which is e1fffcd1d75d ("drm/nouveau: fix the
broken marco GSP_MSG_MAX_SIZE"), but I do not immediately why it would
    be the cause.

    Regards,
    Salvatore

Hmm... I think I've found the cause of the black screen. I got strange
mail messages from another machine on my local Ethernet network, which
could indicate some hardware failure during the night. And the logs on
this machine (a laptop) tell that the dock got temporarily disconnected
and the wifi also got temporarily down at the same time. The only thing
I can think of is a power loss for a few minutes.

It is known that after the dock is temporarily disconnected, then the
external monitors (connected to the dock) remain black (together with
the laptop screen). This is bad, but this has always been like that:

    https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/i915/kernel/-/issues/11821#note_2519241

(I'm not using autorandr as it is based on fixed configurations, as
    I've said there.)

The errors with nouveau might be related. Such errors had already
happened with the 6.7.12-amd64 kernel in November. So they are not
new either. Since this is during a shutdown for a reboot, I don't
think this is much a problem in my case, though this seems to be a
    real bug.
