NEW default/linux/amd64/23.0/split-usr(added "split-usr")

but it seems to me it is obsolete. Has anybody switched to a new

How complicated is it?
Gentoo instruction page is not very clear.
NEW default/linux/amd64/23.0/split-usr(added "split-usr")
My eselect profile list shows:
default/linux/amd64/23.0/desktop (stable)
Do I need to "split-user" to the end?
default/linux/amd64/23.0/desktop/split-usr ??
The 17.1 profile will apparently be removed after one year.
Does it mean my system will not be able to upgrader after profile 17.1
is removed?
Pretty sure this is the news item for profile switch to 23.

If you can post what profile you are currently on, I'm sure one of us
can point out the one you need to switch to. The naming is slightly different. It is important to follow the instructions pretty well.
Example, before switching, you need to complete your emerge upgrade.
Usually emerge -auDN world will get you there.. Then do the profile switch. I tried skipping that step and it didn't go well. Luckily I
was in a chroot and could just start over.

You have understood perfectly which profile to switch to, the new
profile equivalent to your old one is the 'split-usr' one. If you
follow the instructions in the news item it is not very complicated at
all. If you have any problems, touch back here for help.
