No 8.7 shown at https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/, but there is 8.4.5. There's an open pull request from today: https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/34267

I'm sure they'd be happy to have testers.

For package version updates or issues, the standard procedure is to log
a bug against the appropriate package or submit a PR if you've done the
work. This ensures maintainers are aware. It's also good practice to
check if a bug or PR already exists and add your input there.

Additionally, regarding the versions you mentioned: upstream MySQL has
released 8.4.5 and 9.3.0. Version 8.7 _does not exist_.

Again, please log a bug for this. Developers, maintainers, and
contributors rely on the bug tracker, not mailing list monitoring, to
address package issues.
