Can we revisit the actual requirement? Multiple people in infra are

I had automated as much of the process as possible.

Things that require infra, but do not touch ballots:
    a) automated close-of-election
    https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/elections.git/tree/README.md#n111

Things that require infra, and DO touch ballots:
    b) special ballots; only required for trustees, not applicable for council.
    https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/elections.git/tree/README.md#n83

    c) Manual close of election
    https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/elections.git/tree/README.md#n134

If we plan for a) only, then an infra member who is a candidate can
    safely run the command.

    Robin,

I don't fully understand the scope of the remaining infra contact tasks.
As you say, for council it should only be
    a) automated close-of-election

It looks like that can be run any time after the election is set up.

It's set up now but is in the process of being checked. So not yet.

    Robin,

I don't fully understand the remaining infra contacts tasks but it
    looks like
    just a) automated close-of-election.

As you say, that can be done by a candidate as it does not involve
    access to any ballots.

It can also be done at any time after the election is set up too.
That's not quite yet, as its in the process of being checked.
