    I have this same problem. Figure references show up in the table of figures, but not in the cross-reference list. Copy and paste of "working" numbers doesn't resolve the problem. Using format painter to make sure the exact text type is used doesn't
    work either. Large chunks of the document seem to be "immune" to getting figure numbers into the cross-reference list (but they do get into the table). Anybody ever get a fix that worked?
