    | Asha (only first name used to protect privacy), who is in the second
    | year of her OPT, too, has not been picked through the H1B lottery
    | this year and faces uncertainty about her visa status despite having
    | a job as senior program manager at large tech company in California.
    | "It is mentally draining and I am working with my company's attorney
    | and global mobility team for next steps in case the application does
    | not get picked next year as well. I have started an online petition
    | to reform the H-1B process and have also reached out to my county's
    | representative Congressman Ro Khanna and US Vice President Kamala
    | Harris," says Asha who went to the US to pursue an MBA at the Simon
    | Business School, University of Rochester. As back-up for her future
    | career path, she is looking at different countries and applying for
    | permanent residence status in Canada and Australia. "Given how
    | expensive MBA schools are, I am working with many of my batchmates
    | to find a way to get the H-1B visa to enable us to continue working
    | in the US and repay all our student loans. I still work at the same
    | company where I did my internship after my MBA and have formed some
    | amazing relationship with the people I work with," she rues.
