NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Vice President Kamala Harris announced that the Partnership for Central America (PCA) has brought in $5.2 billion in investments to boost economic opportunities and reduce migration from
Honduras, El Salvadore, and Guatemala, on Monday, March 25.

According to a statement released by the White House, PCA announced "more
than $1 billion in new private sector commitments, as part of Central
America Forward (CAF), a public-private partnership that was created in response to the Vice President’s Call to Action for Northern Central
    America."

"These investments are creating jobs, connecting people to the digital
economy, expanding access to financing for small businesses, providing
training and education for youth, women and workers, and improving
economic livelihoods for people in the region," read the statement.

Harris welcomed the newly elected president of Guatemala, Bernardo
Arévalo, to the White House on Monday, before sharing the news.

“Your leadership can help rebuild the Guatemalan people’s trust in their institutions, and give them a sense of hope and opportunity,” she told
him, praising his battle against corruption and promoting their work on stemming migration from Central America, reported PBS.

On the issue of migration, the VP stated, "The problems, of course, did
not occur overnight, and the solutions will not be achieved overnight,"
but acknowledged that there was short-term progress.

    VP Kamala Harris' tweet
Harris conveyed the news via the social media platform X (formerly
Twitter), stating, "In 2021, I called upon the private sector to step up: Increase investments in northern Central America to aid in fostering
economic opportunity and tackling the root causes of migration."

"Today, I convened leaders in our public-private partnership and announced
we have generated more than $5.2 billion in private sector commitments,"
    she added.

Internet reacts to Kamala Harris' tweet
Netizens trolled Kamala Harris over her post, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"Kamala Harris wants to spend billions of American dollars enriching
foreign countries instead of securing our border. That’s what she’s
saying. She’s letting South America extort the United States. Meanwhile, Americans are getting murdered by illegals. Shame on Kamala" slammed a
    user.

"Obviously it didn’t work. They are coming here by the millions," jibed another.

"Looks like you have failed again, have you seen the illegal crossing
numbers. Your fired," wrote a user. [sic]

"what does that mean? Doesn't seem like the migrants have STOPPED coming
in. Whats the point?" commented a user. [sic]

"Once again, America last," quipped a user.

    What fools.
That money will end up in the hands of the corrupt government officials and the cartels.

Throwing money at the "root cause" will do nothing but waste the taxpayers money.
