10 bucks can fill up a tank in those days!
Plus, you get your windshield washed and oil checked!
Larry you weren't alive when $10 would fill your tank...
However you are right about to price in the early late 60's and into the 70's.

Larry you weren't alive when $10 would fill your tank...2-3 decades ago, someone made an interesting comment about that:

In the early 60's, when gasoline was 25 cents/gallon, U.S. quarters were
made of silver (through 1963). At the time I heard his comment,
gasoline was $1.25 / gallon, and his comment was that one silver quarter *still* bought a gallon of gasoline.
For fun, I just did an approximate calculation using current numbers:
A 2021 silver proof quarter weighs 6.343 grams and is 99.9% silver.
.006343 kg * 2.2 (pounds/kg) * 16 (ounces/pound) * $26.07/ounce
is $5.82.
So, if my math is correct, based on its bullion value alone, one silver quarter *still* buys a gallon of gasoline in most parts of the U.S.,
and with change (in Federal Reserve debt fiat currency) left over.
