Wow, sweet. Look at all that great legroom, definitely an upgrade from
your average coach class experience these days, for sure! Pretty
certain if you flew on that plane you wouldn't have to deal with some
loser taking his sock off and picking his toenails next to you, either.

Well folks, the good old days are gone.

All of that. But wait! If it has a "RIPPING PANEL", isn't it a
balloon or lighter-than-air craft of some kind? Why would an airplane
    have a ripping panel?

Well folks, the good old days are gone.

It does say emergency exit: Ripping panel - In case of emergency pull
    end sharply.

    RIPPING PANEL

It reads "in case of emergency, pull ring sharply". which would open
up the canvas roof for escape.

The ripping panel, invented in 1844 by America's foremost pioneer
aeronaut, John Wise, is a simple and an excellent practical device.
This is a long patch running longitudinally above the equator[8] of
the balloon, feebly sewed to the envelope, and having a cord, called
the "ripping cord," extending down to the car along the outside or
inside of the bag, so that the pilot on coming to earth can let out
the gas quickly by tearing a rent in the balloon, thus flattening it
promptly on the earth's surface, so as to avoid dragging and bumping
    if any wind prevails.

I am glad, in a perverse way, that due to health flying is not a viable
option. It seems from anecdotal evidence to only be getting worse and worse as a customer "experience", and even the higher-tier cabin is not immune from the delights of the average person-in-the-street nowadays.

I despair the way society in general is going, and wonder what expletive it will be when my daughter is of my age, and maybe I am clinging on [if natural life expectency is to be, err, expected].
