Not clear to me why this sentence was stronger than others, if he was apparently fundraising and cheering from the sidelines, not actually
smashing windows and vandalizing. Maybe because he played a leadership
    role?

    Enjoy jailtime, brother.

Really enjoying these guys' apologies. They are so regretful,
remorseful, penitant, reformed. They vow to go to church every day
henceforth and help little old ladies cross the street, join the Boy
    Scouts, pick up litter.

But I'm more enjoying that satifying bitchslap sound of reality and consequences.

My _guess_: Collaborated with police, showing he knew it was wrong, yet
    did not temper his behavior.

Not enough rules in Nam led to a whole lot of problems.

Keep in mind those solider's had loaded guns.

Some (many?) coming back, who fought in jungle warfare, were sent
stateside or to Europe, and had attitude/emotional issues.

When a muscular football player went to Nam, they gave him a machine
gun. A machine gun operator receives lots of enemy firepower. This
person you did not want to tick off....hot tempered.

So ... leadership role. Well, he gets 22 blissful years in the pokey
to think about why he fucked up and just how dumb his dumbass really
    was.

Agreed. It's a quote from a movie (The Big Lebowski). You can find it

We have no ideal what ideations rolled around in his head, but I
suspect many of those tried and convicted have lower IQs.

And orange face was laughing when these suckers and losers were doing
    his bidding.

Makes you wonder WTF he thought he was doing. Organizing a cookie sale
    for the girl scouts?

As for the Cheeto, if sentences get longer as you go up the chain, he
may yet answer for his crimes.

So far, his strategies to postpone court dates aren't working.

And he got his butt kicked in the second E. Jean Carroll defamation
case. No trial, but a court date to determine damages.

I'm wondering if he is paying for damages, or he is using those
    suckers and losers monies.

As long as people keep putting money in his PAC, he'll have money to
fund lawyers. One of these days, folks will learn they're wasting good
money by betting on the wrong horse. Fool and his money ...

In his time, the world population was much smaller... I'd speculate that
there might be a sucker born every second, nowadays.
