Google has been gradually rolling out Chrome's "Enhanced Ad Privacy."
That's the technology that, unless switched off, allows websites to
target the user with adverts tuned to their online activities and
interests based on their browser histories.…
Simple enough to avoid... don't use Chrome!
Or if you do, install AdBlocker, uBlock Origin or something similar...
These days there's no need to see any ads, targeted or not.

I use Firefox, and also blocking add-ons. No Google anything for me.
No targeted tracking ads either, please. Duck-Duck-Go search... I've
used that exclusively for years. The only "Google" thing I "cheat"
with is occasional YouTube.com.

Yeah, Firefox with uBlock Origin for me, no ads whatsoever... DuckDuckGo
for search.
If the odd site wants me to turn off my ad blocker, goodbye. I close the page.
