Merrick Garland rebukes congressional Republicans at House Judiciary
    Committee hearing

Attorney General Merrick Garland forcefully rebuked congressional
Republicans who have accused the Justice Department of political bias
as he opened a contentious House Judiciary Committee hearing in
    Washington on Wednesday.

"I am not the president's lawyer," Garland said in his opening
statement. "I will also add that I am not Congress's prosecutor. The
Justice Department works for the American people."

    Well said Mr. Garland. Bravo.

Makes me wonder who Congress works for though. Their party first,
probably. Certainly not the people. Getting and keeping the power has
largely surpassed any sense of duty to the nation. Thank you Citizens
United, you SCOTUS ballsacks, for putting money into politics. Like
squirting jet fuel on a house fire. Morons.

The Justice Dept is about all we've got left, and it sometimes seems to
be hanging on by a thread.
