• wipe Israel off the map

It's worth seeing Hamas leadership in their own words, in which they
vow to repeat the atrocities of Oct. 7th until they wipe Israel off
the map and eliminate the state altogether. Palestinian civilians
*must* be protected. But these are insane zealots.

I'd say the Gaza strip will be wiped off the map as a refuge for
"Palestinian" terrorists long before Israel goes anywhere!

Last I knew was their 'fireworks' were still being sent upwards
towards Israel while IDF levels their play-ground in Gaza. But then,
they want a cease fire without showing restraint.

On this escapade of theirs, they may fully experience a 19th Nervous

How about Netanyahu in his own words comparing the Israeli response to a biblical genocide?

    https://www.commondreams.org/news/netanyahu-genocide

Declaring the start of a "second stage" of Israel's war on
Gaza--which he described as a "holy mission"--Netanyahu said that
"you must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy
    Bible."

According to the Hebrew Bible, the nation of Amalek was an ancient
archenemy of the Israelites whose extermination was commanded by God
to Saul via the prophet Samuel.

"Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have,
and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and
suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass," states the Old Testament in
    1 Samuel 15:3.

The holy text further states that Saul infuriates God by sparing
some of the Amalekites and their livestock.

This is a nation with a lot of religious extremists who will have no
trouble hearing the call to genocide.

From news scans, I believe their focus is to eliminate Hamas, not
    Palestinian civilians.
    ==============================

Netanyahu Accused of 'Genocidal Intentions' in Gaza After 'Holy
    Mission' Speech

"The biblical reference to Amalek is genocidal," noted one theologian
after the prime minister invoked an ancient enemy. "The Bible commands
to wipe out Amalek, including women, babies, children, and animals." =============================

I do not have a biblical background, so the following

Amalek - was a nation described in the Hebrew Bible as a staunch enemy
    of the Israelites

Would this include Palestinian civilians? Palestinian civilians were
given a warning that IDF was coming, so they are not the target

To my awareness, Netanyahu is not acting like Pol Pot (Cambodian
    genocide).

Without taking a deep dive on this topic, I suspect off-hand that
cited article is not in sync with current reality. Each side has its
talking points, but currently, Hamas is analogous to Amalek since they
have stated their objective of eliminating Jews. =====================================

Accused - to charge with a fault or offense

    Bullshit

I was thinking something similar: beware of any nation reverting to
Biblical references in defense of its military ambitions. America's
Manifest Destiny was equally horse shit.

    Smite Amalek, fer fuck's sake.

Considering the end result, westward expansion, most likely not.

Back then, it was about land grabs by various States....so what
country, besides US, would have grabbed that land?

IIRC, a lot of that land was "bought"
