• Hamas could end this war today

Hamas could end this war today by giving up power in Gaza and
releasing the hostages. They won't of course. But they could, and
thereby save many lives and give new momentum to Palestinian
    sovereignty. But they won't.

True. As for saving lives, they don't give a shit. They are operating
from within refugee centers and hospitals, betting the West won't dare
bomb them for fear of hitting civilians. A callous approach to battle
on Hamas' behalf. Let's destroy them and give the Palestinian people
    a chance for better leadership.

Hamas (is an acronym for Islamic Resistance Movement) apparently
perceives their behavior is OK with their religion.

Palestinians there are opposed to them, but Hamas won't allow
elections...power trippers....who want Palestinians to conform to
    their ways.

One could examine previous history that details the Kingdom of Israel
being conquered by others (Neo-Assyrian Empire, Pompey, Ottoman
Empire), but to my awareness, Jews have not been hostile to others,
while others (States/Churches) have been hostile to them.

Israel would like to eliminate Hamas, but I'm not aware of them
    wanting to eliminate "peaceful" Palestinians.

Civilian Casualties - They have attempted to reduce "collateral
damage," which suggests they are "pro life."

My dude, this is a complicated issue, and Hamas is definitely a
terrorist organization, but you need to stop pretending Israel is
completely blameless here. Apartheid is always, *ALWAYS* bad.

An assumption on your part....I hope your logic does not suggest the
US was to blame for the September 11 attack.

    Keep in mind,

    1. Islamists have killed 167,096 people since 1979 https://www.fondapol.org/en/in-media/islamists-have-killed-167096-people-since-1979-most-of-them-were-muslims/

    2. Have about 170 million people been killed in the name of Allah?
....60 million Christians, 80 million Hindus, 10 million Buddhists and
120 million Africans of varying religions.... https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/52936/have-about-170-million-people-been-killed-in-the-name-of-allah

It seems them people have a historical track record of kill, kill,
    and kill.

100% agree. No one is blameless in this conflict, not even the US.

I predict a full-on Mideast conflagration for a year or two, until
everyone runs out of money and ammunition (while solving nothing).

Especially the US, who like to keep the pot boiling. It's used it's veto
on many rUN resolutions condemning Israeli transgressions over the years.

I thought you meant in the US; MidEast v MidWest (AIUI the farmers
daughters there are great, if not up to Californian standard.)

Israel has increased its land area, but I'd have to take a deep dive
on this topic to fully understand, from a historical perspective. I
suspect many countries are guilty of this same behavior.

UN can behave in a political way, for instance,

"While France, Germany, Sweden and other EU states are expected to
support most of the estimated 15 resolutions to be adopted against
Israel by December, the same European nations have failed to introduce
a single UNGA resolution on the human rights situation in China,
Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Turkey, Pakistan, Vietnam, Algeria, or
on 175 other countries," said Neuer. "Where is their concern for
international law and human rights?" https://unwatch.org/u-n-condemns-israel-8-times-rest-of-world-0/ ==========================================

UN is filled with noodleheads whose ideations are off the charts.

    1. Hamas wants to eliminate Israel/Jews

So, what is the UN solution...cease fire? Then Hamas regroups, and
    does it again.

The American politician that criticizes Israel quickly loses the
American Jewish vote and is out. It's a political death sentence.
That doesn't excuse the behavior though, and you are right, US has
    quite relentlessly backed bad behavior.

My prediction for a year-long conflagration remains in place.
