Iran's Axis of Resistance' against Israel faces trial by fire

Iran's supreme leader delivered a clear message to the head of Hamas
when they met in Tehran in early November, according to three senior
officials: You gave us no warning of your Oct. 7 attack on Israel and
we will not enter the war on your behalf.

If true, an interesting position....he might view Hamas's efforts as
futile, and which causes great harm to Palestinians.

    But, on the other hand,

Mohanad Hage Ali, an expert on Hezbollah at the Carnegie Middle East
Center think-tank in Beirut, said Hamas' Oct. 7 assault on Israel had
left its axis partners facing tough choices in confronting an
    adversary with far superior firepower.

"When you wake up the bear with such an attack, it's quite difficult
for your allies to stand in the same position as you."

I'm not sure that is a true indication of Iran's position...

Where did Hamas get the guns/rifles/grenades/rockets (etc.) to attack
Israel from? As well as the funding required to equip soldiers with
uniform, helmets, body armour (etc.) to fight a war? None of the military hardware and supplies were manufactured in the Gaza strip... somebody shipped/smuggled them in. Surely Iran didn't think they were supplying
funds to Hamas for afternoon tea parties and BBQ's on the beach?

If Hamas kept the date of the attack secret it doesn't alter the fact that
Iran must have known Hamas would use the weapons at some stage... and it
wasn't going to be for shooting Ducks!

Yes, Iran wants to eliminate Israel, and has supplied 'war tools/etc'
to Hamas, but Iran was not allowed to evaluate their plan.

My "futile" opinion above is valid reasoning I believe, but I don't
know if Iran has the same perspective as Hamas in regards to
collateral damage (here Palestinians) being acceptable.

Does Iran abide by this below? I don't know
