Police destroy more than $11m worth of cannabis after aerial raids on
    regional properties

Victorian Special Operations Group police have launched a series of
aerial raids on remote central Victorian properties to seize more than
    $11m worth of cannabis.
    ..
    ..
Police said the property had infrastructure to support cannabis
cultivation, including large, freshly dug dams, irrigation pumps, a
large number of solar panels and a generator.
    ...
    ...
Five Vietnamese nationals, all charged with cultivating large
commercial quantities of cannabis, have been remanded to appear at
    Bendigo Magistrates' Court in March.

    Five Vietnamese nationals,

Highly unlikely they funded these 'farms'....

With satellite photos and using AI, above ground 'farms' can be ID'ed.

What a waste. I've got some friends who would have destroyed that
motherlode of weed the old fashioned way, one spliff at a time. Follow
the money lads, and let's see which big operation funded these farmers.
Weed is big business now, not the stuff of clandestine military raids,
    WTF?

I'm not familiar with Australian politics, but I would suspect the alcohol/tavern businesses would strongly object to cannabis usage.

Anytime an industry is threatened with another industry creeping in on
its "turf," they will attempt to eliminate it, etc.
