    George Conway @gtconway3d

There's some commentary on here saying we should disregard Trump's
"bloodbath" remarks last night because he was talking about potential
    harms to the auto industry.

    That is misguided. 1/x

Trump may well have been referring to a "bloodbath" in that industry.
He's sufficiently incoherent that, as is so often the case with him,
it's hard to tell one way other what exactly he's talking about at any
    given moment. 2/x

I'm willing to assume for the sake of argument that he was referring
to cars. And it makes no difference to his malicious intent or to the
danger he and his rhetoric poses. 3/x

Personally I'd say there will be a bloodbath either way... I
think you are all sleep-walking your way in to a lose/lose
scenario in the USA this year... Joe Biden or Donald Trump?
    Again!!! What a choice.

I hope Trump will win. Then all will be good in the US, and
the EU will get a wake up call not to come crying home to papa
US as soon as Putin is naughty.

I'm not American but I think the voters in the US have a tough
choice choosing between Biden and Trump. I wouldn't view either
of them as prime Presidential candidates... a 77 year old and an
81 year old? They should be sitting in nursing homes watching
the Dodgers on ESPN and dribbling down their cardigans.

Well, don't tell anyone, but if I had a completely _free_ choice, I would
    go for Ron Paul!

I think it's a figure of speech, more than a promise of action.

The quote was also taken out of context. I assume it was more
about a bloodbath on the US economy if Biden wins. As the rest
of his speech was on that subject, the American auto industry
more specifically. Trump loves hyperbole headlines though so I'm
sure he chooses his phrasing carefully!

This is what Trump is claiming, but since someone wrote up his speech,
I believe his comment was intentional. See below...

    =========================

Trump allies argued the former president's words were being taken out
of context and that he was clearly talking about the auto industry
being decimated if Biden wins reelection.

The former president's campaign sought to capitalize on the outrage
over the remarks on Monday, sending out a fundraising email with the
    subject line "Bloodbath!"

Of course it was intentional! Trump plays mainstream media lite a flute,
and they fall for it every time giving him billions of peoples attention.

I prefer Trump over Biden, so I don't care, but what I cannot understand
is why media falls for it every single time.

Since they don't like Trump, the best thing they could do to "fight" him
would be to ignore him. But no, they follow his every command.
