    Well
not really new at all....but I do not mind the tech as long as it is
    off-line.

You have to understand the processing power in order to create these
fakes are server ( cloud ) based.
Remembering Michael Jacksons video "It does not matter if your
black or white" and how they would
morph from one performer to the next.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCvp_E9jMsI

What you have now is the ability to make an image turn by rebuilding
parts of the image via 3d graphics,
and or mending together other images via a mess. As with the above
video the process is not picture perfect
    and could have many flaws.

    The TV-series "Visitors" ( V) did this already. 1X12
"Betrayal" Mr. Chang uses a program provided by the
Visitors, to mimic his appearance via video-calls and communication
devices. The same episode he eliminates
his boss where later a fight breaks out between him and the son in a
firey hallway ( like some kind of martial
arts flick ). Honestly I do find this to be a dangerous security for
somebody who uses video calling for security
purposes. Which is a set back because "Face Time" ( whatever
it is called service used via COVID ).

Years back the FBI ( Or what it the NSA, and the HLS ) literally
announced how they have the video recordings
of everybody using the video-chat portion of the MSN messenger. I can
not find the news-article but it was
announced via a news report. This is akin to google making it clear
via printed press that works hand-in-hand
with law enforcement agencies. So it is possible for the government or
anybody to spoof you or me as long as they have enough videos of us
turning, or is at a high resolution.
