While Beryl is expected to bring hurricane conditions to Texas on Monday, strong winds and rain from the cyclone will move into the Midwest by midweek.

    The Folkel Minority--Freeze A Yankee

The song was composed by Bob Arnold and Bill Sturgeon, members of the
group, in 1979 as their answer to the than-current energy crisis.
President Jimmy Carter was in the White House, and tried to get Texans
to drill more oil wells so that the rest of America could be energy
sufficient. The song also mentions then-Texas Governor Bill Clements.
The song sold over 100,000 copies as a 45 rpm record, and was written
up in The Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, as well as local
    Dallas newspapers.

A water main break on Thursday, February 18, 2021, caused flooding on
West Magnolia Avenue and surrounding streets. The winter weather and
record low temperatures have caused numerous water main breaks in the
    city.

    FORT WORTH

Forty years ago, Texans felt so indestructible that we sang along when
a Dallas radio station played "Freeze a Yankee":

Cut off the gas, turn off the oil

And let 'em all freeze and boil

After the most costly storm in state history destroyed homes,
businesses, cities and lives, songwriter Bob Arnold of Dallas said
last week was "just completely embarrassing" for Texas.

"Now the Yankees are not freezing -- we are," he said.

Ha, well, make stupid decisions, get stupid results. Me personally I'd
be just fine with 49 states only, while Texas goes and chokes on a bag
    of dicks.

The last step before Texas being proven wrong is a bunch of loud-mouthed
Texans screaming and yelling about something they think they're right
    about.

    Enjoy the heat, dickheads.
