Russia can end war now, says PM as Putin warns West

Russia started the conflict in Ukraine and can end it "straight away",
Sir Keir Starmer has said after Russian President Vladimir Putin
suggested Moscow would regard Western missiles being fired into Russia
as a serious escalation of the war.

The PM is in Washington for talks with US President Joe Biden on
Friday, as allies of Kyiv discuss giving Ukraine permission to fire
their missiles at targets inside Russia.

Putins statement is a clear admission of weakness. The only rational way
is to approve the missiles being used.

    Let's all pray for this!

His rhetoric implicitly suggests "this is unfair" when outsiders
assist Ukraine. I fail to understand his reasoning. That's the in
essence rhetoric he gave to the Russians recently.

Does he want to escalate, and attach NATO countries?

I have no idea how he can explain the "Nazis" kicked Russia's butt,
and save face at he same time.

Is to say the outside world (NATO) has deployed its forces with
Ukraine, so in the interest of world peace, Russia will leave Ukraine.

Footnote - Putin says, it's Ok for Russia to get arms from China/Iran,
but its not OK for Ukraine to get arms from NATO countries.

When it comes to some things, he is no longer rational, so no point in
    trying to understand.

I suspect that his closest live in fear, and as a result he lives with
people who reinforce his world view and are only "yes-sayers". This will ultimately lead to his downfall due to bad decision making, if he is not
    killed by the next Tsar-to-be.

Once again, we agree on something. It scares me when it happens! ;) Maybe
there is hope for the world after all? ;)

Yeah, well the West could also end this war now, if they would just give Ukraine the weapons it needs. Instead the West has equipped Ukraine
with enough weaponry to impose a grueling stalemate, nothing more.

Give those folks some decent weapons, remove the restriction of letting
them give Moscow an ass-whooping, and watch this thing end shortly.

The West is blinded with arrogance.

I agree 100%! I cannot understand _why_ the west wants to prolong the
conflict as long as possible? I mean it drains them as well. What do they
    have to gain?

I can perfectly understand why iran, china and the axis of evil want to
prolong the war. As long as it continues, they can do what they want,
since the west is busy with Ukraine.

It seems like the west enjoys somehow, damaging itself.
