Seriously, is there any voters out there who actually base their

there will always be a few nitwits, but are there that many?

    'A' endorses 'B'. Ho hum.

Except if A is is the object of fanatic fandom, of religious fervor,
for millions of people. "What would Jesus do?" "Pray without
ceasing." "Only believe." Whatever the cognitive mechanism is that
makes some people live constantly in that submissive context can be
stripped down and reconfigured to elevate A to messianic status
without ever using that word or other theological terminology.

Then A's endorsement is an ex cathedra pronouncement.

Those within some religious, unions, and police groups? I don't
belong to these groups, but when their "chiefs" endorse, I suspect
some percent will follow (vote). Should be research out there on this
    topic somewhere.

Aside - More than a few come out of the woodwork, when macho 'drum

Ex cathedra: Latin for "with the catheter removed." ;)

I think for people who feel overwhelmed by the mental complexity of a
subject, simply doing what your idol tells you to do is a shortcut to
trying to make a good decision (whatever that means to you) without
    doing a lot of work.

Remember: work smarter, not harder! Unless you're not that smart. Then,
you'd probably better get to work.
