American Airlines cracks down against 'gate lice' as airport
passengers skip lines amid boarding process

American Airlines is testing new technology to end a process known as
"gate lice," which is when passengers cut lines in hopes of boarding a
    flight early.

The system audibly flags when a passenger attempts to board the plane
before their designated assignment is called.

Interesting! I didn't even know this was a problem. I always make it a
point to board the plane as late as humanly possible, to minimize the time
I have to spend with complete strangers in a small metal and/or carbon
    fibre tube.

I find modern flying to unpleasant that I try to avoid it at all cost.

On the extremely rare occasions my wife forces me onto long flights I
always fly business, so I can have a sealed off little cocoon and not have
to interact with any other people on the plane. This still doesn't stop it
from being a revolting experience, but it somewhat lessens the pain.

If I was a billionaire, one of my first changes in life would be to
quickly acquire a private jet or a small one engine jet plane.

Those lice have been around for years showing up in shopping centers
    and fast foot restaurants.

Most likely, those who were allowed to go first got ticked off with
    them, and reported this issue.

If I was a billionaire...,a private jet or a small one engine jet plane.

    TBM 700 (SOCATA TBM) - Turboprop; Range: 3,304 km (2,053 mi, 1,784
    nmi)

There are those with the jingle who rent out their planes.

Unless there is a need for daily/weekly flights, owning one consumes
    your pocket book.

You are a wise man! I have been frighteningly close to actually renting
    one during corona.

I suspect part of the issue is that people in later groups get on the
plane with their enormous luggage and find no space left in the bins for
it. So they sneak on early with group 1 or 2 to take advantage.

The lesson here is: people are assholes and always have been, and
    probably always will be.

As the experienced traveller that I am, I never bring luggage bigger than
    what fits under the seat.

This is scientifically proven! Just read a history book and you will
    confirm this statement.
