SO overwhelmingly ready to go vote and be done with this. The election
stuff is getting unbearable, and hard to escape - no matter which side
you support. News coverage is 24/7, TV, radio, canvassers at the door.
Even foreign media are treating it like a horse race, with steady
    coverage of the latest polls.

I can't wait to see the signs taken down, the media shut the f8ck up,
and whatever happens, happens. Obviously I have an opinion about how I
want the election to turn out. But after this, mostly I want peace and
    quiet.

Hmm, I might have to pull the network cord then! But seriously, go to
the gym: every TV glued to CNN, which is running only one story since
forever. Makes me want to stab my eyes out.

So: unplug the network, turn off the phone, throw out the TV, live in
the barn, read old books and drink bourbon for a month or two. The more
I think about it, the better it sounds.

What is puck also known as?

Puck, also known as Robin Goodfellow, is an important character in A
Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. His capricious humor,
miscreant spirit, and use of magic all set the events of the play in
    motion.

We're less than a week from Election Day, and the mood inside the
Trump campaign has undergone yet another transformation. Last week, I
reported on the preemptive but undeniably palpable sense of euphoria
washing over Mar-a-Lago as data rolled in depicting early-voting
surges in Nevada, Georgia, and North Carolina. But now, as the early
results from Pennsylvania reveal an influx of first-time female voters
who will likely break for Harris, a newfound anxiety is taking hold.
While Trump continues to claim he has a massive lead, setting the
stage to contest any unfavorable result, some in the Mar-a-Lago-sphere
are starting to believe that his surge last week was two weeks
    premature.

Pennsylvania is obviously a must-win state for both campaigns...but
it?s really crucial for Trump. While his inner circle feels confident
about winning the Sunbelt, they recognize that they have a good chance
of losing Michigan, where the gender gap is stark and students are
coming out in record numbers. (A new CNN poll shows Harris up 5 points
in the state.) So the situation in Pennsylvania--where women have
outpaced men by 13 points in the early vote--has sent the campaign
into a tailspin during the past two days.

called question dodging. This can happen for a number of reasons,
    including:

    Avoiding embarrassment
The person may not know the answer and wants to avoid being
    embarrassed.

    Avoiding giving a direct response
The person may be being questioned in a debate or interrogation and
wants to avoid a direct response.

    Avoiding a difficult situation
The person may be trying to avoid a difficult social situation where
    other people's feelings are involved.

    Avoiding an uncomfortable question
The person may be trying to avoid answering an uncomfortable question,
such as a reporter asking about their expectations for the next fiscal

It's the European states that should be doing their bit to help

    whatever Kamala could offer them!

I read that pussy grabbing will become part of the US school
curriculum. Can anyone here confirm that?

In some schools and colleges I'm sure it goes on!

I think his plan for Ukraine is also to grab Putins pussy as
    well to make him stop.

Unfortunately, Vladimir Putin is no pussy.

Let's see how he acts if/when someone finally drags him out of his little armoured train and he hits the street where the common people live who's
    sons are now dead.

I think he actually might be one, but we'll see when Trump tries to grab
    it! ;)

But it will be interesting to see how the Ukriane-Russia thing
    plays out with Trump v2.0.

Very interesting. Since I'm close to Kiev I'm following the situation with great interest!

It is a powerful weapon indeed!

Cut "war" spending for Ukraine, and give corporations another
    tax break.

Some might say why should the United States fund Ukraine? The
    USA isn't in Europe.

It's the European states that should be doing their bit to help
out Ukraine... or doing more, as they case may be.

It can be a costly business being the world's police force...
there has to be a line drawn somewhere.

[I'm not saying Donald Trump is drawing any lines, just pointing
out that you can't forver be funding other people's wars and
expect to have a healthy economy.]

This is the truth. I am european and I agree. It is completely unfair that
the US should pay for europes security. It is also stopping europe from developing geo-politically, since europe has been spoiled with big brother
US fixing everything for them. It is high time that europe wakes from its slumber and takes responsibility like the US does.

More fiscally responsible: Democrat or Republican presidents?

    [Journal of Post Keynesian Economics Volume 45, 2022 - Issue 3 ]

    Abstract

Evidence is reviewed that national economic performance generally has
been better under Democrat presidents. It is likely, but not
necessarily true, however, that better economic performance is related
to greater fiscal responsibility. A brief history of federal budget
deficits and the gross federal debt for the last seven decades is
followed by discussion of why federal budget deficits matter. A simple
model is estimated where the shares of federal budget deficits in
gross domestic products over the 72-year period from 1950 to 2021 are
regressed on the civilian unemployment rate, indicating the state of
the economy, and controlling for whether a Democrat or Republican is
president and for years the U.S. was engaged in war. An Index of
Fiscal Discipline is then regressed on the growth rate in real gross
domestic product, again controlling for the party in the White House
and war years. The results show that Democrat presidents have been significantly more fiscally responsible.

And for the ones who are wondering, what is a swede doing there? I can
answer that I reject swedens culture and socialism, and wanted a more free society with very low taxes and very little LGBTHJ+-!? activity.

I've found a good spot for the moment, but when I retire, the plan is to

The only two sure things in life are death and taxes.
Also, you must pay for freedom.

Well, I'm working on making taxes history, but so far I'm at 9%-15%
depending on the financial year of my company. ;) But trying hard to push
    that down further still. =D

    I quite agree about LGBXYZ-EIEIO.

    Amen!
