I personally decided I'm going to avoid political discussion for a
while, take a break. There's more to life than just a single news story
    these days.

But, not if you're a news site, apparently! My RSS reader shows that on
the NYTimes newsfeed, 12 of 28 articles currently on deck are about the president-elect. If I filtered, nearly half the feed would disappear.

Don't let them fool you: the mainstream news is thrilled they have a
chance to sell papers via outrage. They did great the last time around.

Me, I'm going to turn my attention to other things for a while.

Excuse me, exciting news has been around since for profit news
    outlets.

    Politicians play this game tooo...btw.

In fact, in social circles, they too toot their horns.

    Also,
What was Tom Wolfe famous for?

He is known for mixing highly original, poetic, rhapsodic, and
    impressionistic prose with autobiographical writing.

Good idea. Barring some unpredicted development, there's going to be
    two months of untethered punditry.

The *threat* of government, financial and political chaos will fill
many, many columns. The actual TEOTWAWKI in January will provide even
more thrilling fodder. Nothing like the complete collapse of
civilization and the Westphalian international order for great
    headlines.

Me, I'm going to turn my attention to other things for a while.

My firewood is all in. I'm planting next year's garlic this week.

Nice. I'm prepping to plant some loblolly pine, and reading Robert
Frost. The forest is full of gold and auburn. The nights are getting
    long.

This does you great honor! Personally I'm touching up my recently imported
MAGA hat that I had flown in from the US for coronation day! =)

    Hear, hear!

I'm over the political crap-show, and I'm quite glad the political
mailers and phone calls have stopped. Now for all the jerks who put out political lawn signs along the side of the highway to come collect their rubbish.
