• Ukraine's firing of ATACMS

From JAB@21:1/5 to All on Fri Nov 22 11:26:33 2024
I'm amazed at how Putin/Russia suggests implicitly this is unfair; on
another note, Russia is getting arms from other countries, but this is
    "fair" in Russia's mind.

Moscow has said it regards Ukraine's firing of ATACMS and Storm Shadow
missiles into Russia as proof of direct U.S. and British involvement
in the war. It says satellite targeting data and the actual
programming of the missiles' flight paths must be done by NATO
military personnel because Kyiv does not have the capabilities itself.

Excellent! We are eagerly waiting for Putins attack on US equipment and personnel. Please Putin, any time, any day, and then your kingdom is
    toast.

Remember, the Wagner guys with a tiny amount of military, got all the way
to Moscow, so once you lift the lid over russia, there's usually nothing
    there.

They act tough, but have nothing to back it up with.

Well then Vlad Putin - if you're feeling feisty, go ahead and take the
first shot at a NATO country, and let's take off the gloves, shall we?

His rhetoric is puzzling...he seems to think Russia has the right to
take other lands, and outsiders are interfering with his rights.

I don't know what they hear in Russia, but his reasoning is flawed.

This is the truth! Putins aggression really shows how afraid he is. You
can see it in nature, small animals puffing themselves up when under
    threat.

This is easy to explain. As far as he is concerned, he is retaking what
was stolen from them. He believes russia consists of the soviet borders,
and has sworn to restore those borders, so ukraine is just a part of that
    plan.

If the US and europe let him have ukraine, it will have been proven that
might makes right, and he will continue the war in 5-10 years when he has recharged the batteries.

So a diplomatic end now, will yield a 5x greater war in 5-10 years. I say, let's finish it now, once and for all, and depose Putin and have him
    humiliated at ICJ.

In 1667, Alexis of Russia made a grab for Ukraine, and in 1783,
Catherine the Great latched on to Crimean.

The territorial evolution of Russia has expanded since those times.

Nothing more than a land grab, for natural resources, etc. His
"conservative" thinkers are pushing this agenda. But, I see no legit
claim these land grabs give him the absolute right to take.

I sincerely hope Biden "educated" Trump....

This is the truth! There are no legitimate reasons. If any country should
claim Ukraine, it would be sweden, since it was founded by the viking
    Rurik!

Maybe sweden is just biding its time, and they will move in for the kill
once ukraine and russia have exhausted themselves? ;)
