    Walmart is doing more of this....I wanted to read the fine print on a
    higher dollar flashlight, but could not, so I did not want to wait for
    a clerk, and left.

    Sure enough, I see the same thing at our local antique mall. If it's
    locked up in a case, we sell at least 2/3 fewer things. You miss many
    impulse sales with a locked case, especially for lower priced items.
