plutocracy - rule by the wealthy
kleptocracy - rule by corrupt thieves
kakistocracy - rule by the worst, least qualified

But what if it's all 3 -- what's the word for that?

Looking at the salaries and bank accounts of most western politicians, I'd
say that western democracy is indeed in most cases kleptocracies.

It is my experience that politicians, regardless of color, soon become
rich, so it could be argued that the three terms, taken together, is the definition of modern western liberal democracies.

I would think plutocracy has always played a role. Even in US's
beginnings, the creation of Patent Act of 1790 protects those who
succeed. US has always supported businesses growth. Kleptocracy, per
se, has not been a major factor, but more of "insider trader"
activities in US. Kakistocracy at the POTUS level depends upon each
POTUS listening to their advisors, and digesting their views.
