At a guess I'd say the "give" was more likely a case of "sold"...

With increasing age, it tends to be better to move on....

    Wilson, 83
    Broccoli, 64
    ...
However in December, the Wall Street Journal reported that "the
relationship between the family that oversees the franchise and the
e-commerce giant has all but collapsed".

The newspaper also claimed that Broccoli had privately described
    Amazon as "idiots".

Excellent! And it has to be either negro or asian of course, and I demand
that it speaks with a chinese/english accent in order not to discriminate against non-perfect english speakers!

This will be the comedy of the year!! =D

    Only 1 billion? That's nothing!

I was expecting that comment. I'm pretty sure woke dead and buried
now, so I wouldn't count on it. Amazon is almost certainly going to do
to Bond what Disney did to Star Wars - expect multiple, mediocre
movies, spin-offs, marketing engagements, an advertising blitz that
makes your eyes bleed, a TV series available only on Prime-Plus-Ultra*
and the rest of the horsecrap Corporate America excels at.**

    * $129/month with auto-incrementing cost monthly
** viewable only on a new device sold only by Amazon.

Of course! I would expect nothing less! I heard a rumour that they did a captain america with a negro as captain america. Horrible! I hope the
company who did it gets closed down.

Probably the same will happen with Bond. I mean who ever bothers to watch
star wars any longer? Andor, strangely enough, was somewhat ok.

I expect trans-jedis from now on. On the other hand... lots of IT
billionaires have kissed Trumps hand, maybe Disney and Netflix will do a
180 and kiss his hand too?

If so, we might actually get to see some high quality movies for a change!
    =)

Though there has been a character bible circulating around the studio
and a few informal meetings with potential creative talent, shooting
on a new movie is at least a year away. That's been a source of
frustration at Amazon, which spent $8.5 billion to buy MGM four years
ago, in no small part because of the ties to Bond. Even with the
initial acquisition, Amazon MGM only owned 50% of the franchise and
was relegated to being a passive partner when it came to artistic
    choices.
