Trump Org Keeps Bringing In Foreign Workers To Staff Its Clubs And
    Winery

On Thursday, President Donald Trump acknowledged concerns from the
agriculture and hospitality industries that his strict immigration
policies are making it harder to retain long-time workers--even as his
own company continues importing foreign workers through legal visa
programs to staff its clubs and Virginia vineyard.

In a Truth Social post Thursday, Trump said his "very aggressive
policy on immigration" is driving away long-time workers, citing
complaints from the agricultural and hospitality industries--jobs
those businesses are struggling to fill.

At the same time, the Trump Organization has consistently made use of
temporary visa programs to hire foreign workers for Mar-a-Lago, four
golf clubs and his Virginia winery--filing to bring in at least 1,880
seasonal workers since 2008, including 382 during Trump's first term,
according to Department of Labor data.

Not surprising. But for what it's worth, this level of cognitive
dissonance nicely summarizes the recent election. Americans decided
that doing away with immigrants en masse was a useful thing, despite
wanting continued service from all the industries that immigrants staff.

The only way to solve this is to let it proceed, I suppose.

Immigrants are not the problem, but employers who hire them, and
Congress for failing to enact realistic penalties.

Whoever hires them should get prison time, plus a fine.

Both are the problem, and the law is already there. 8 USC 1324.

harboring is not the same as employing them...

8 U.S.C. 1324 is a federal law addressing the bringing in and
harboring of certain aliens. It outlines criminal offenses related to
the unauthorized entry, transportation, and harboring of individuals
who are not legally authorized to be in the United States

I happen to agree with Anon. It's the reason legal Latino immigrants
(Florida, Texas, etc.) overwhelmingly rejected the Dems and chose
Trump. Even they want the borders controlled.

But politically, business owners aren't going to feel the heat for this
    one.

    AI Overview
Many legally present Latino immigrants voted for Donald Trump due to a
variety of reasons, with economic concerns being a primary driver.
They were often frustrated with rising costs and inflation, believing
that Trump's policies could lead to a better economy and more
opportunities. This resonates with many voters who are seeking
financial stability and advancement, according to the BBC

'It's simple, really' - why Latinos flocked to Trump's working-class
    coalition

Turns out "vote Dem because Trump is a threat to Western Civilization
and the future of democracy" was a pretty stupid campaign platform. So
was "Joy" when you can't define it any better than that.

I'm not happy with where we wound up but I certainly understand how we
    got here.

    Hey UK, how's Brexit going?!

Those who vote as based upon campaign slogans tend to be news
    illiterate.

    pretty stupid

Quite literate, and to the point...in reality.
