Severe flooding in Kerr County after heavy Fourth of July storms

Between 10 to 12 inches of rain fell in the Kerr County area on Friday

The Fourth of July started with heavy storms hitting Kerr County
overnight, causing the Guadalupe River to rise significantly.

As of Friday afternoon, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said during a
news conference that the severe flooding killed at least 13 people. An
unknown number of people remain unaccounted for, the sheriff said.

Texas Officials Slam Trump's National Weather Service for Botched
    Forecast

Officials in Texas are casting blame on the National Weather Service
(NWS) for failing to forecast catastrophic flooding that has killed at
    least 27 people.

NWS was among the government agencies targeted by the Department of
Government Efficiency in its effort to gut the federal bureaucracy,
    losing approximately 600 staffers.

After the cuts, the agency--which was already understaffed--began to
prepare to offer "degraded" forecasting services, facing "severe
shortages" of meteorologists, according to an internal document
obtained by The New York Times in April.

I saw a video where they found one girl, I think she was 12, clinging to

    A classic non-sense statement:

"Blaming President Trump for these floods is a depraved lie, and it
serves no purpose during this time of national mourning," she said.

Trump can not control the weather....blaming Trump for cutting weather
service employees is legit...if NWS failed, due to DOGE.

Accountability has nothing to do with football here...we need to know

cut to NWS was a factor.

    Here's the topic at hand,

Should We Politicize the Texas Flood? Absolutely

When it comes to disasters, accountability delayed is accountability
    denied
    ...
In fact, now is exactly the time to put officials on the spot and ask
how much responsibility they bear for the horror. Because the reality
of America today is that if we don't make an issue of how this
happened within the next few days, nothing will be learned and nothing
    will change.

My, my, Greg knew what the issue was....Texas legislators

Over the years, Texas legislators have declined to pass at least three
bills that would create siren or alert systems, a tool that Kerr
County officials tried to secure for years before the July 4 flooding.
