Are you saying Apple *knew* the customer wanted yellow iPhones, or are
Apple telling the customer *this* is what you want?
The yellow color is only for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models.
I'd guess that they figured that since sales of the non-Pro models have
been less than great that they'd try to do something to get some kind of
a sales bump, and adding another color probably is not very expensive.
It's hard to believe that anyone who was holding out for the 15 would be enticed to buy a 14 just because it was now available in yellow.

that's because the pro models have muted colours. only the non-pro have vibrant colours. this is not new.

I don't know the answer but I have two answers which seem reasonable.
The first is that it's better not to have to use the inexpensive $20 flashlight than it is to not ever have the flashlight when you need it.
The second is that for $20 you can store more images & video on that card than twice the storage of the phone AND you can easily move it to another phone without needing to do anything other than to push a button to do it.
Same with those loud FM radios which nobody needs and nobody wants.
Is this even an issue? I hate FM - sound quality may be way above AM,
but it's still audio constrained.
Same issue. When you really need it, it's better if it's there than not.
The list goes on, as with those 3.5mm connections nobody needs nor

Yeah, technology from the 19th century is really needed these days.
People have been carrying water canteens since the 19th century too.
Leaving the water at home doesn't make the hike better in and of itself.

It shows iPhone consumers care more for looks sometimes than for function.

My iPhone has more storage than I could easily use on a 1 month holiday
for photos and videos.
My other cameras (incl. drones) use SD cards and I bring enough for the

I can also, WiFi or local data plan permitting, simply upload the photos

I understand you're saying that these capabilities are never needed and
that nobody wants them even as probably most phones in the world have them. That most phones have them is a decision that I didn't make, nor did you. That the iPhone lacks them is also a decision neither of us made ourselves.
It's Apple who decided to provide you with exciting colors instead.
All I'm trying to explain to you is that when you really need those capabilities, they're all much more useful than wasting cash on colors.

You have it backward because they're having fun with Apple investing
probably hundreds of millions of dollars for no added capabilities.
It probably cost them almost nothing except the cost
of marketing the new product and keeping track of yet another SKU.

Nothing upsets our favorite trolls
more than when someone with a bunch
of Apple stuff points out something that Apple does that is not for
the benefit of, or that harms, its customers.
In my family we have three iPhones two iPads, one Mac Pro, one Mac

Still, there's nothing wrong with adding a new color of a product if it increases sales, revenue, and profits, which is of course the goal of
most corporations. It doesn't cost much to tool up to manufacture a
different color enclosure.

Transform your phone as a network drive (also known as "z drive").
Access your phone/device files with common softwares : MAC OS
Finder, File Explorer, ES Explorer, VLC, Kodi etc.
LAN Drive is a powerfull and easy SMB server - also known as SAMBA

LAN drive is also a powerfull client to connect to SMB servers, and
