Hello,
What are good long reliable selfie sticks for iPhones (11 Pro Max and
newer)?
I see most of the newer ones have battery RCs, but their battery lives
are short. The old wired cables one worked well without needing
batteries. The best one, broken cable or maybe tiny circuit board died?,
was from Monopod. It has no batteries and use cable to the 3.5mm audio
cable with an adapter to iPhones' lightning port.
Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon.
You don't see many Lightning selfie sticks because of the royalty cost
of MFia Bluetooth remote is cheaper.
In the olden days you had wired selfie sticks that used the headphone
jack to trigger the camera but of course those days are long gone.
Another issue is that you really want to minimize the number of removal/insertions of Lightning plugs into the phone. As we've seen just
in this group, failure of the Lightning connector is not uncommon and
it's expensive to replace.
That's one reason that wireless charging is
advisable, even though it is slower than wired charging.

You don't see many Lightning selfie sticks because of the royalty cost
of MFi??????a Bluetooth remote is cheaper.
In the olden days you had wired selfie sticks that used the headphone
jack to trigger the camera but of course those days are long gone. I
doubt if a headphone jack selfie stick would work with a Lightning to headphone jack adapter.
There have been some Lightning selfie sticks in the past, but I have not
seen one in years. Aliexpress shows one but it is discontinued <https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832602187211.html>.
Newer selfie sticks for later iPhones now are MagSafe compatible so
there's no clamping mechanism necessary, i.e. <https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNQSMTVJ>, but these are pretty new so they aren't cheap.
A 2032 coin cell lasts years in the remote of a selfie stick and they
cost very little??????my local variety store just upped the price to $1.75 for two 2032 batteries.

because wireless is a much better method than dealing with cables.
I agree with this, but the selfie sticks' RCs' batteries don't last long enough from experiences.
I wonder if there are any that have much longer
battery lives for those who takes many selfies. :(

Maybe a hour per day. Not nonstop though. On and off.
which stick?
that seems a bit short for the battery to go dead.
an airtag, for example, lasts ~18 months on a coin battery. other
devices last longer.
I thought AirTags' batteries last a year, not 1.5 years.

they're rated to last a year, but mine lasted ~18 months, as have
several other people i know. ymmv.
Hmm MagSafe. That means the case will have to be
removed.
Also, this would be easy to fall off at a great height and
distance like over water, cliffs, etc. :(
I think that some lower-end selfie sticks don't let you
completely shut off the Bluetooth.

Does yours make audio once in a while even though iPhone is near it/them? So far, it has happened to mine within a month so far.

bluetooth le uses very little power and doesn't need to be shut off.
