• watch os 8.8.1

From badgolferman@21:1/5 to All on Sat Sep 23 12:25:31 2023
My Apple Watch 4 is up to date with the latest security releases with OS
8.8.1 according to its app. Obviously this is not the latest Watch OS and it’s not truly protected with the latest security releases despite what it says.

My question is: since the watch is vulnerable, does that also make the
phone vulnerable regardless of what iOS version is installed in the phone?

    My question is:

How do you know "it’s not truly protected with the latest security
    releases"?

What evidence do you have to support that claim?

Make sure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.

    Sure, trollboi. Sure.

Perfectly pointing out that you are deadlocked in step with Arlen's lazy trolls. 🤣

My question is: since the watch is vulnerable

Your loaded question is based on a false claim.

Go ahead and point out the specific vulnerabilities you are claiming are unpatched on your Watch. In fact, as your butt buddy Arlen loves to say,
    *name just one*.

Since you and Arlen love to collaborate on this unsubstantiated claim,
it should be easy for you two to collaborate on it and *name just one* vulnerability that is supposedly unpatched in your Watch.

    We'll wait. 🙂 i

Prediction: as usual, neither of these two shit heels will be able to
name a single vulnerability that is unpatched on the Apple Watch 4
running the latest OS version. Instead, they will yet again point to a
generic statement on Apple's website while making the enormous leap that
it must mean some unnamed vulnerability is still open, because that's
all they've got. Like children, their arguments are weak and they are ill-prepared to back them up with actual evidence. And when adults do
ask them for evidence to back up their lazy lies, they resort to ad
hominem attacks, like clockwork. Just Watch™. 😉

The article clearly states I should upgrade to the latest OS release, yet I cannot because my old watch will not support the latest release. I’m asking if the watch doesn’t have the latest release, is that a back door into my phone which is connected to it? What part of that can’t you understand? This is not a trick question, I genuinely don’t know.

But where does it list any vulnerability that hasn't been patched on
    YOUR phone?

But you and Jolly Roger are real assholes and you think everyone else is
just like you, so you attack my character just to be tough guys in your own mind. Just fuck off!

    Hmmmm... ...no.

Earlier this year I broke the news to this group that, unlike every other operating system vendor, *Apple only fully supports a single release...*

    Which _is_ the answer.

The iKooks would still be claiming Apple fully supports all releases if I hadn't proven that even Apple was forced to admit they don't & never did.

*Apple finally comes clean distinguishing software updates from upgrades*

    Hi badgolferman,

The adult answer to your perfectly valid question is that Apple publicly
states they do NOT fully patch any release other than the one latest.

In practice, that means Apple might patch "some" bugs in the older
releases, just like Microsoft and Google do when the bugs are so horrid
people would throw their device over a bridge to get rid of it quickly...

But Apple says they do NOT fully patch any release other than the latest.

That means they know of plenty of bugs which are not fixed in older
releases and they have no promise nor plan to fix them for you.

It's the same as if you owned a Windows XP system, by the way.

You may as well throw that device over a bridge - if - if being fully
patched against vulnerabilities Apple knows about is important to you.

What I do with Windows XP systems, for example, is disconnect them from the
net (where I had one attached to a USB printer for two decades at home).

The simplest answer is that it's vulnerable & Apple promises nothing.
Neither does any other company for unsupported releases.

The main difference is only Apple fully supports only a single OS release. That's how crappy Apple support is (when you understand the facts).

Hope this adult content helps you with your decisions.
