• ios 17 changed my notification sounds

From badgolferman@21:1/5 to All on Thu Oct 12 10:04:54 2023
I finally upgraded to iOS 17.0.3 on my personal iPhone 14. The first thing
out of the ordinary I noticed was that some of my notification sounds and haptic feedback had been changed. I use the old phone ring and old car horn (texts) which are holdovers from my first iPhone which was the 4 model. It
took me a while to restore those and other notification sounds/haptics and
I probably will continue to find more changes.

    Why did they do that?

I just had another issue with my phone. After hanging up on a Facetime
call I tried to open my Gmail app and it wouldn't get past the Google
Workspace splash page. I also noticed the orange microphone icon on
the status bar of the phone remained even though the Facetime call had
ended. I tried to open some more apps and none of them worked. I
force closed everything and the microphone icon went away, but none of
the apps would open so I finally shut down the phone. After a restart
it seems to be working properly again.

Hang ups of processes can happen even to an iPhone.

    Settings Sounds & Haptics

You may have to look around and test for the sounds and haptics you’re used to.

Did you have custom sounds? If so you may have to download them again
or find where you put them on your phone. There's also a bunch more
    under the Classic menu.

Joerg can't add value. Neither can Alan Baker. It's not gonna happen.

I've determined that these Snit-like posters like Alan Baker and Joerg
Lorenz can _never_ add any value - and - as noted - they subtract value.

Hence, they're two of the very few in my killfile as nothing they can ever
say will have value and just _reading_ their garbage is a waste of energy.

And it takes a lot for me to put someone in my killfile, mind you.
As even Jolly Roger and Alan Browne are _not_ in my killfile.

I would wager that 950 out of 1000 posts to this newsgroup are worthless
posts from these (and a couple other) iKooks who are here for amusement.

The rest of us are here to learn something (& to disseminate knowledge).

I've looked through the classic sounds. Not there. I listened
to all of them to be sure the name hadn't changed. Not there.

I never bought any ringtones and stuff from the itunes store.
