My son had surgery yesterday and I'm supposed to pick him up today.
He sent me a SMS message asking for a Monster energy drink when I
come. Today when I opened the conversation back up at the top of the
page there is a message which says:
Siri found a Reminder Add
Bring me a Monster
Today
I didn't know Siri snoops on my conversations. I found the setting
for that and shut it off. Do others actually use this Siri "Learn
from this app" feature?

Why do you care so much?
"Siri uses local, on-device processing to learn how you use your
devices and apps in order to personalize your experience. "

I don't want my phone thiking for me unless I tell it to.
Automated
responses are not my thing and I don't like talking to phone menus
either. I want my electronics to be a tool rather than an "assistant".

That is complete bullshit, and you know it.

phone menus either. I want my electronics to be a tool rather than

Saying it twice doesn't make it less bullshit.
You were offered a smart suggestion, and you could have just said no.
Do you object to your device recognizing all the information in an
email and suggesting you can create a contact from it... ...or add new information to an existing contact?
Of course not.
Neither of these are your phone "thinking for [you]".

As a sensible adult, I agree with you that it's creepy.
But I would hope it can easily be turned off...
Can it?
