    A cursory glance indicates this site seems comprehensive, in both
    breadth and length, so to speak.

    <https://usenetarchives.com/threads.php?id=news.software.nntp&y=0&r=0&p=1>

    But you must bring your own search engine, because it offers no search functionality.

    ###

    Further inspection indicates the 1988 dates on news.software.nntp may be
    an outlier. A spot check of a few other groups shows earliest dates in
    the mid-1990s. Also, the archive's latest dates tend torwards April
    30 2022. And, the quantity of articles archived for each group seems
    low.

    I keep some old articles on news.novalink.us . It's static, and there are
    a lot of empty groups, but there are also a lot of older articles there.
    It's mostly the pre-renaming groups.

    It's just running static. I'll keep it online as long as people are
    interested.

    I see no way to get the complete article in source format, i.e.
    including the headers, or at least some of the headers. Or am I missing something obvious?

    Also e-mail addresses (and other info?) in posts are heavily munged, including in attribution lines, which makes them basically useless:

    Actually, they fit in really well with this bumper sticker that a
    friend made for me:
    Better Living Through Complexity
    And a common refrain around here is, "We have no shame - we use
    symlinks."
    :-)
    What I did is put the nntp-ified inews in lib/inews and the genuine
    2.11.14 inews in lib/local/inews. When I compiled nntpd I told it that
    inews was in lib/local/inews.
    What do you do about posting from the server machine? Did you compile
    all your other news software so as to know that the real inews is in >lib/local/inews?

    these webified usenet archive sites might be useful if they included
    the option for viewing articles in their pristine raw message format;
    but at least "usenetarchives.com" is read-only and could be improved
