    Hi folks

    I am having a change in personal circumstances in the coming months that
    means I will be unable to keep my hobby NNTP server running for the medium term.

    I wanted to signal to all the systems I am peered with that my plan is to
    shut down news.bbs.nz on 31 July (New Zealand time)

    I do intend to restart the server down the track but don't see this
    happening for around 18-24 months after I shutter things soon.

    I do hope to see you all again in Usenet again soon and thank everyone who
    has peered with my system over the many years we've be running :)

    That's a shame. Are you not just able to let it run on life support? It
    might be easier then trying to catchup after 2 years? As long as
    there's disk space, there's very little maintenance.

    Let me express hope on behalf of us all that it's because the Federation
    has been dealt enough of a setback that life can return to somewhat normal, allowing you to raise a family, and not because Servalan is on the verge
    of destroying the Liberator and wiping out the resistance.

    Hey folks

    For now the pressing need for me to shutter the server has passed so I am announcing the server will not close on 31 July as previously posted.

    Instead normal service will continue will all peers.

    If things change for me I will aim to give a one month heads up of any
    intended close down.
