Hi *,
I apologize maybe i already made a mistake, Italian usenet user's after
my invitation ask me to create a new hierarchy: usenet.*.
So I sent the control message to create the group >usenet.discussion.ai.general, but I was contacted for information and >clarifications about this possibly maybe not appreciate action.
I'am here to request a voting about the creation of hierarchy usenet.*

It is beyond absurd to name any newsgroups into a top-level hierarchy
called usenet.*. Please rethink this.
There is no voting. Anybody can declare himself hierarchy administrator, which is what you've done by sending newgroup messages, but just because
you can doesn't mean you should.

was to create a "celebratory" hierarchy to relaunch the use of
usenet in Italy. Many newsgroups in the "It.* " hierarchy are
practically empty, in the sense that there are no more people
posting.
So I proposed to Corrado Roberto the launch of the "Usenet.*"
hierarchy with a few newsgroups dedicated to topics of particular
interest, or to users particularly active in the Italian
community who write many posts and make the Italian , "surviving"
community lively.
The hierarchy, to be created, also wanted to try to go beyond the
Italian one, and include non-Italian users as well, this with the
clear purpose of revitalizing an increasingly small
community.
So we thought a celebratory and inclusive name, and it seemed like
a good idea to launch a hierarchy called "Usenet.*"

| A Usenet top level hierarchy named "usenet" seems to be a tautology.
| It would also be out of scope for the Big8 management board.

Hi Ray Banana, maybe we "have" gone too far egocentrism...
Thank you all for participating in this discussion, maybe I should have >thought about it earlier that this hierarchy was out of my reach.
But if you would like to add the group only, me and my "friends"
would be happy with that.
