Would it make sense to make MX-Linux newsgroup? Say
comp.os.linux.mx-linux? Or rather other newsgroups are preferable?

distrowatch stats are from their-site-visits, it is in no way a
reflection of what is a top distro, nor anywhere near factually or statistically correct.

That said, I have no objection to the request.

No. There are plenty of useless newsgroups around so we don't need yet
    another one.

comp.os.linux.misc already exists. I would recommend you to use that. Currently, there isn't that much traffic there, so feel free to create
    them there.

If traffic grows that much, a new group can be created.

This really does not mean anything :)

I have no issues with this, but seems a few people
do. Maybe create alt.os.linux.mx ? Slackware Linux
uses alt.os.linux.slackware and it is somewhat busy.

On that note there's already alt.os.linux.debian which still shows
rare signs of life. Since MX is based on Debian many discussions
about it will be equally applicable to that group already.

The question is . . . who would use it? Are there people who are active
on UseNet who would post to an MX-Linux-specific newsgroup? Or are
their information needs already being met by existing sources?

My inclination is that there are already enough information sources,
including comp.os.linux.misc, that a separate newsgroup for the variant
is not going to fly. The way to prove me wrong is to post in the
existing newsgroup(s) and find actual examples of people who would use a
    new group.
