  • inn2 not displaying newgroups in setup or localgroups file

    Well looks like nntp.aioe.org is down for the count right now. Can't even login to news.giganews.com no mattor how many times I change my user/pass.
    I was setting up inn2 yesterday on debian 11. I was able to get readers.conf to allow me to connect but I could not see any of my groups listed in ctlinnd newgroup or the localgroups file. Did I do something wrong along the way wile setting up?
    Looks like the google groups for now.

    Looks like the google groups for now.

    What does your readers.conf look like? It is probably an issue with your
    access definition.

    In case, for the fr hierarchy, there is a list of servers [1]. AFAIK they also carry other hierarchies.

    auth world {
    hosts: "*.sethhurst.com"
    default: "world"
    }
    access world {
    users: "world"
    newsgroups: "skynet.*"
    }

    that is what I had from memory.
