My subscription with individual.net is coming up for renewal soon and after many, many years on Usenet, and in particular here on NSR, I will
be allowing it to lapse. Time to move on and take only positive
memories of my time here.
I will leave my guide to compiling slrn under Windows in place for a little longer:
slrn and Windows 10...

I am not sure if anyone ever actually used this guide but I had a huge amount of fun putting it together :). And a huge amount of time when I rewrote the slrn web site all those years ago...
Are there many of the old time slrn users left here? And if so what are your future plans on Usenet and NSR?

Hi, Andrew. Thanks for your contributions. I appreciate all of them, even
if I didn't have much use for the Windows portion. :)
Great job all around.

Someone had to clean up messes made by the Darkside. :)

This in particular I appreciate very much.

I started following Usenet in the early 1990's via a corporate proxy when
I was at work, and a dialup ISP at home (on xrn IIRC).
I continue to follow a few Usenet groups via ($) Usenet Server.
FWIW, the trolling and spam in groups I follow has mostly moved to "social networks" like Facepuke (I escaped all that bedlam 10+ years ago).
I still find useful tips and information on the Usenet groups I follow.
Anyway: thanks again for being the Voice Of Reason for The Slrn Mafia. :)

Yes! I'm using it from Linux and Android (in a Termux shell).
My plans are to continue as usual on Linux, and if a good app
becomes available on Android, I'll switch to that.

I'm an old guy, sure, a long-time Usenet user, and ages ago a news admin, but have been using slrn for only a couple of years.
Slackware distributions come with multiple newsreaders preinstalled. slrn was the one that checked all my boxes:
- NNTP authentication
- can kill articles by Injection-Info header
- actively maintained
Cheers

I check in from time to time with slrn (linux). Started out on pine on SunOS/Solaris. Then went to tin for a while, thence to slrn.
I am a bit sad that web forums took over the role that usenet used to play.
