The alternatives for web interfaces to Usenet seem to be getting very restricted.
First novaBBS, now https://narkive.com/ seems to have died too.
Does anyone know the story here?

    It's been resurrected!

I managed to find the admin's email, alerted him, and he has fixed it.

Great, and it's letting me use it from the Dillo web browser again
now. Last time I tried it Narkive seemed to have joined the
ever-growing ranks of websites accusing me of being a bot.

It used to accuse me of being a bot using Firefox/Android. If I
scroll down a group looking for a past thread I have to tap
'Click to Load More' to scroll further. After a couple of those
it used to ask me to do one of those tests with pictures of
traffic lights or whatever, and once I'd completed that it
started again at the top of the group. Useless.

I just tried it again. No traffic lights now but it just stops
after a few tap on 'Load More'. Better: it fails quicker. I
    suppose it's just limiting traffic.

If you can use Dillo, I'd guess you wouldn't have too much issues
by just using slrn; unless you use the Windows port for the
mainline Dillo (or some smartphone with postmarketOS).

I use Narkive just for viewing old threads, since it's impractical
to download all the headers from a news server going back years.
Although I'm currently experimenting with the news overview
caching feature in Tin which might allow that to work better.
