  • Some figures on EV bus ownership

From Gordon@21:1/5 to All on Wed Jan 24 23:44:44 2024
    https://wlos.com/news/alexa/5-million-loss-for-asheville-as-flawed-electric-buses-sit-idle-interim-transportation-director-jessica-morriss-maintenance-director-john-mcdaniel-proterra

These stories are doing more explaining as to why EV battery transportation
is kind of not as great as the EV addicts have been telling us.

The stupidity of human nature is showing up big time.

So what is new here? Auckland Transport seems to be doing OK with
    electric transportation:

We have the benefit of a much more battery-friendly climate.

They seem to work OK in Wellington as well, but may have winter
    problems in Southland.

The new Transport Minister Simian Brown does not appear to have
problems with EVs - perhaps because this one was in National party
    blue.

On the other hand the proposed user charges may make small ICE
vehicles more attractive for a while - it will be interesting to see
what if any scientific advice they got on the announced changes to
    road user charges.
