Lets ignore the woke food aspect of menu item in Stuff, for it was a
    monentary laspe of reason.

The article brings an update of David Seymour's announment on the proposed
    cuts to the school lunches.

The article informs us of the update without reference to the time span of
the the $478m in the budget. One can make the assumption that the year cost will remain the same and the $478m figure is for 1.5 years until the start
of 2026, by which time there will be an improved and revised scheme.

Then we have the reported Minister's statement

“The alternate provision model will use the government’s significant buying power to save money on food, give schools more flexibility on what they provide, and significantly reduce wastage. It also means parents and
students can choose to make their own lunch,” Seymour said in a statement.

All good points. However it does look as if the Minster placed too much emphasis on the cost cutting of the proposal without giving consideration to how could the scheme be improved.

Good to be the people on the front line have been listened to and a stay of excution at worst is the outcome. Also good to see that the Government is listening to the people, are taking the people along with them, even though
it was the people pushing and not the Govenment not pulling.

Finally, it should be noted that Stuff is showing signs of coming out of its coma. While the article does build largely on The Post's article we are now getting some details from the schools themselves. The public is much the
wiser to offer an informed viewpoint.

Their coma is very deep - they might be too late.
