  • ACT want a business case!

    So Seymour is apparently objecting to the Medical School at Waikato
    unless a business case stacks up. This is a jack-up project that was
    Quigley's attempt to "gift" to the National Party - he authorised $1m
    to Steven Joyce to get it ready - and announcements are expected very
    very soon . . .

    Who would have thought it would be ACT keeping the Government Honest,
    but that is what competition does - Peters and Jones have made it
    clear they are in it for the money and pay-backs; Seymour sees that
    his one in particular may well be a disaster, and so as is acting as
    leader in getting it stopped unless it really does stack up. If it had
    been dressed up as a private university he may have been happier about
    putting money in, but otherwise, there is nothing but trouble for the
    whole government in proceeding at this time.
