A good summary, and good journalism from Radio New Zealand

The article also makes a good point that in the picture of the
Minister, the emblem of the National Party was prominently displayed -
he is supposed to be acting as a Minister of the Crown, not a party
politician - it may not be illegal but it is certainly very
inappropriate - but under the circumstances I suspect National will
not be happy with it either!

Not everyone shares your high tolerance for lies, either by yourself
or by those you support,Tony. To claim to be fixing a problem when the
facts show that overall it is getting worse is what the article is
about. The gratuitous use of a Ministerial responsibility to advertise
for a political party is relatively new.

Fair points. However some of you thoughts on the articles content would be
nice instead of using it as an into National bashing.

Surely most people understand the lies and statitics saying. The fact that
it is part of our/many people culture means that there is a great deal of
truth in it and any statement from any politican needs to be taken with a
    grain of salt.
