• My Insurance Company Is Teaching Its Customers To Be Phishing Victims

From Lawrence D'Oliveiro@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jun 13 01:33:02 2024
So I receive an email notification that my insurance is due for renewal.

The email helpfully includes links to where I can pay online, or get more
    info etc.

Trouble is, none of those links goes to the actual company website.
Instead, they go to a third-party site which presumably is performing some
    kind of click-tracking service.

This is not the way to do it. All the links should go to your own company website. Because by training your users to click on links that point to
random websites, you are helping to make them more susceptible to phishing attacks.

The page that the user is sent to could perform the click-tracking
    function, of course.
