Its more than a little absurd to just assume anyone who dies aged 15-55
has died because they got a particular vaccine.

Quite wrong, we did not have young athletes dropping dead before 2021.

Not the Covid vaccines, but Covid itself. From: https://www.tewhatuora.govt.nz/for-health-professionals/data-and-statistics/covid-19-data/covid-19-current-cases/#current-situation
4788 cases and 37 deaths in the last week

Rugby has its problems, but for most it is "Safe and Effective"
provided reasonable precautions are taken - head injury being one of
    the problems most often noted.

Blaming covid deaths on the vaccine is like blaming alcohol deaths on
the bottle, jug or glass it is served in - yes there have been deaths
    from broken glass . . .

A negative cannot be proven, as any school child knows. You may claim
"there are no pink elephants" and Rich will say "prove it". You can't
prove it, but the claim can be disproved if a pink elephant is found.

Everyone knows they did not, but a negative cannot be proven. Nor can

Fine, don't prove the negative. Prove the positive. You're claiming that

Com'on we have has this before. Either side should be able to provide some
data to support their case. Just getting into a "pounce" mode does not cut
    it.

Nelly has offered the assertion that young sports people did not die

I gave this already, in my posting of the 3rd-June in the thread of
"Japan first off the mark". You are pretending you haven't already
seen it, a typical Lefty tactic, but here is an excerpt of it:

You are well-versed at fetching these graphs, Rich, but apparently
unable to read them. Looking at (the above) graph, observe the
plotted points from 13 March 2022 to 31 July 2022, which were right
after NZ's big covid booster programme of Jan-Feb 2022. Those
points bulge upwards to reach the 15% excess-deaths horizontal line.

Point is, that graph doesn't prove anything about the cause. It only

I trust you're not suggesting that correlation implies causation and

I gave this already, in my posting of the 3rd-June in the thread of
"Japan first off the mark". You are pretending you haven't already
seen it, a typical Lefty tactic, but here is an excerpt of it:

Not pretending. I often don't read your posts as I can usually guess the >content from the subject.

More nonsense from you as I was not the OP of that thread.

Point is, that graph doesn't prove anything about the cause. It only
shows more people died than was otherwise expected.

And if the obvious cause is not to your liking, you'll just pretend
    that there was no cause.

I did not say there was no cause, just that that graph says nothing
about the *cause* of the excess mortality.

You're claiming a specific cause of death has become vastly more common
in recent years, so your evidence needs to show that the number of
deaths attributed to that cause have also risen in recent years.

If you cannot find such evidence, then perhaps your claims are wrong and
you should consider changing your mind.

From my interactions with you so far, it always appears to be you that >refuses to accept logic and data. If you can provide some *reputable*
data to back up your claims, I'll happily accept it.

That data was fully reputable, and that link: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/excess-mortality-p-scores-projected-baseline?country=~NZL
was given by Rich in the post immediately before my own. Rich, are
you there? -- David Goodwin says that your data is not reputable.

Yes, that data is reputable. But it has nothing to with your claims and
so is irrelevant to this discussion.

Here's another "guess": The covid jabs you took will shorten your
life-span by about 4 years per jab. Enjoy.

Your guesses don't appear to have any value given your inability to
provide data to support your claims, so I'm not at all concerned.

I think you're lying, David. I think you won't have any covid jabs
any more, but you'll never admit it. Actions speak louder than words.
Don't forget to say "Thanks, Willy".

Wouldn't be the first belief you've adopted without supporting evidence.

I agree. It is measuring the rates of death from all causes against
expected deaths based on mortality over a previous period. Often there
are reasons for changes such as influenza in winter, but there was a
period following the first appearance of Covid when New Zealand was a
world leader in having a reduction in actual deaths compared with
expected deaths - arising from our Covid protection regime which also
reduced other causes of death such as influenza and road deaths.

We are just going through a period when Covid deaths have increased -
and it is possible that there has been an increase in idiots declining
to keep up with vaccinations - I have not sought evidence of that, but
it may be the explanation Willy is trying to avoid.

Here's another "guess": The covid jabs you took will shorten your
life-span by about 4 years per jab. Enjoy.
